Renée Montagne's piece on Afghanistan this morning struck me as rather vapid; it was very much at odds with the disturbing reports coming out of that country of late. (this felt more like a fun-filled Lonely Planet travelogue, IMHO. Wheee, kite flying is fun, dude)
