This morning's piece on a small town's vehement rejection of a Department of Peace proposal was like an episode of Borat for the NPR demographic. (Stupid pig farmers! "Wa wa WEE wa! Ver niice").

I just sent this complaint to the NPR Corrections and Ombudsman.

In his report, "Bush: House Timetable on Iraq Won't Survive Veto" (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=9121027) David Welna called Joe Lieberman "independent Democrat".

There is no such thing!!

A Democrat is someone from the Democratic party. Joe Lieberman is from the "Connecticut for Lieberman" party.

Why do your reporters keep using false and erroneous labels trying to connect this senator who was rejected by the Democratic party in the 2006 primary to the Democrats?

Did you used to call Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont an "independent Republican"? Did you call Senator Jeffords an "independent Democrat"?

Please stop your reporters from making this error.

Now let's see if they stop this conspiracy with Sore Loser Joe Lieberman to call him a Democrat.

Good on ya! This morning (Tuesday) David Wellne (sp?) said that Lieberman "called himself an independent democrat."

Keep it up.
