I'd like to compliment Philip Reeves' Ganges River series, which has brought integrity and intelligence to the usual ME mishmash this week. As an India hand myself, Reeves' objectivity and his accuracy in approaching the subcontinent are very BBC-like, and hardly NPR-ish in their quality. Renee sounded out of her depth in her intros, which is hardly surprising. The syrupy quasi-Indian music filler was a poor choice, I thought. Despite these minor annoyances, Reeves shined.

Did anyone notice how NPR has had NO stories on the DoD's Inspector General's report detailing that there was NO evidence for an Iraq-Al Qaeda link before the war, and that Douglas Feith literally cooked the intelligence -- or "sexed it up" if you prefer -- to say that there was one?
