My god, another glowingly positive story on Chavez and Venezuela this morning! I don't understand why NPR provides such complimentary, positive, and overly honest reporting on this small Latin American country. Especially since, as everyone knows, Chavez poses such a dire threat to US and our American way of life.

Common, NPR! Enough with these thoughtful, sympathetic Venezuela stories! How about - for a change! - some stories where Venezuela is portrayed as corrupt, backward, authoritarian and buffoonish! ... perhaps you can use the way they change their country's time settings as a hook! Yes! You can do it, NPR!

I guess they decided that it was more fun to highlight a country whose prez. set its clock back 1/2 an hour instead of looking at our own buffoon who has set the clocks back to pre-1215 with a little help from the Congress of course!

I feel so much better about Condi Rice after NPR's sympathetic psychological plumbing this morning. So that's why she enabled some of the greatest crimes in this country's history. Football is about taking territory, she has hidden rage, and she made more than the jewelry clerk who waited upon her. Oh wait, I forgot. I don't give a crap. What has she done in her time at the NSC and State?

ANSWER: Rice-a-phony sure picked up some swanky shoes & took in a hilarious Python musical in the middle of a national catastrophe. Oh yeah, and basically made an arse of herself in response to certain pointed questions in public hearings!

Continuing, does it not seem like Robby Siegel's rootypoop kazoo voice has been possessed by Missy-poo this week in her absence? -with that trademark lilty locution that seems as though their scripts are written out in musical notation. I could just about taste my bile, sad to admit.

PS: more NPR bashing, this time excerpted by San Fran Chronicle write-up of marginalized investigative reporter Greg Palast...

“Basically, (the coverage) is an endless, endless, endless discussion of B.S.,” he said. “And NPR (National Public Radio) is no better. They’re just Connecticut accents repeating the same information.”

Indeed, our stale Condi-ment is a failure for all seasonings, but she will continue to be dolled up as a token and exemplary wonder. Her egomania has always played into the hands of BushCorp quite nicely. My choice for Sec. of State has always run towards Eleanor Holmes Norton or Shirley Chisholm (now, alas, departed). They wouldn't take any crap, but they wouldn't spread any of ours, either.

b!p!, thanks for keeping the Roly-Poly-Bob & Missy-Melissa rage going, in light of my fainting soul. I dream of returning to face their mugs on the dartboard, but right now I'm healing a bit. Loved your nailing Missy's style as 'lollipops-cotton candy-and-cupcakes.' To which I would add: 'pancakes slathered with mayo', just to play up the sick-making angle a notch.

Yes, Greg P. is one of my reliables. I like the Connecticut touch. Say, Dubya was born with a Conn accent too. I dig it when 'rawther' sneaks through his faux-Tex-t'wang.

I would also point out that China is all one time zone. Beijing time.

Right on about Palast, Brother Porter. It was pleasing to see that NOW gave him some face time about a month ago, on one of his favorite topics - rigged elections. Good thing the All Thinktanks Considered gang didn't ever invite him on to put 'im thru the wringer. (note the sarcasm)
