Real Achievements
Peter Kenyon was talking about PA head Abu Mazen's rather stunning assertion that Hamas is to blame for Israel's latest Gaza slaughter. Kenyon offered this little plum:

Ms. Liane had on a stringer reporting from the carnage in Gaza, but only allowed him to speak for a minute or so. The poor man was obviously shattered in relating how the streets were deserted for fear of more airstrikes.
So Ms. Liane's blithe summation to him was, "So that's how they're coping then, by staying inside?"
To which he muttered, (attempting to remain professional, but I could hear the contempt in his voice), "Um...yeah."

Tell me another funny one.
Abbas wants Hamas out of the picture precisely because he knows they are far more popular than he is with the Palestinian people.
In fact, I'd bet that there is more than a little resentment (and revenge) involved when it comes to Abbas' support for Isreali actions against Hamas.
