Folks elsewhere are predicting the fall of Michael Steele from his post as RNC Chair.

This morning on WE, Wan Juan Williams said it would be hard for the Pukes to throw over a black person in the current climate.

Didn't know the RNC Chair was an Affirmative Action job, dijoo>?

PS: I don't suppose any regular listeners to NPR "You Can't Spell "REPUBLICAN" Without NPR") are unaware of Wan Juan's associatiopn with Faux Noise, but I still think, as a matter of transparency, whenever he does an NPR segment, he should be identified as a tool of Roger Ailes uses to try to coopt legitimacy.

Once again today on WESAT Now Promoting Republiecans felt it necessary to balance whomever with two commentators from the right, Juan Williams and Reihan Salam who followed the quizzing of Daniel Schorr about current events.

On the positive side, the Jorma Kaukonen interview and music nearly made up for lil' Scott's simonizing of us today.

...but the story http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=101899282 about the Army offering a "free GED" for those who enlist...just shocking propaganda/lies and deceit. It used to be you'd get a GI Bill for real college education after a year of service. Now, for those who have been denied a HS education, and need it for enlisting, a faux diploma (GED is really lame/inadequate education, believe me) and you're in! A frabjous day! And it only take 2 weeks! (bckgrd teacherly voice intoning 3rd grade math)

I just sent the following missive to NPR.

Dear Ombudsone:
Juan Williams is tool and a stooge for Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch, and should be identified as such anytime he is called upon to comment on issues on NPR.

I look forward to this becoming part of the intro whenever he appears.

Listening to ME Friday an odd thought struck me: Rupert Murdoch's shadow somehow looms large about NPR. Think about it, all the WSJ folk who are regularly called upon for analysis, and the associations of Mara Liaisson and Juan Williams with Fox. What happened to the CPB/NPR mission of access to the airwaves of other voices, additional viewpoints, etc?

Just an odd thought.

Heard an amazing expose on WE Sunday this AM: All about AIG's association with Goldman Sachs and Robert Rubin and Harvard Endowment's complicity in off-shore shenanigans involving drug running through Mena, Arkansas in the late 80's and then I woke up to hear Leann asked Marianne Faithful, "Are you worried that you'll sound too much like Billie Holiday."

btw: Harry Shearer is announcing that NPR, in a cost-cutting move, is canceling all newspaper subscriptions.
