This morning NPR has Steve Inskeep talking to Kalev Sepp about counterinsurgency in Iraq. This is not the first time NPR has gone to
"Salvador" Sepp for spin on counterinsurgency. NPR supposedly is committed to balance, so I'm still waiting to hear from some of the recipients of US counterinsurgency (someone like
Jennifer Harbury or a representative from the
Human Rights Office of the Diocese of San Salvador would be interesting).
It is sad and inexcusable for NPR to continually ignore the
role of the US in Iraqi death squads, or to provide
the historical context of US involvement in death squads. For a remarkable presentation of this sordid story take a look
at this site from the UK.
