Just blowing off some steam, though rather a lot, I'm afraid: 'Neocon Public Radio Makes Me A Sullen Camper. Or Does It?' at: The Yakkings of Melmoth (click on my name for access...)
I was dismayed when during the interview of Judd Gregg on the rising opposition to continuing the war in Iraq and the upcoming Senate debates she raised the following question: You say that if we don't fight the terrorists in Iraq we will fight them here. But you also say that we need to withdraw from Iraq. Don't those two positions conflict. The reporter posed this as if it was a hard ball question. Unfortunately, this totally misses the absurdity of the claim that fighting in Iraq somehow makes us safer from terrorists in the US. Lying about why we need to be in Iraq is the real issue she needed to raise and totally missed the opportunity. Another sad loss by NPR.
My name is Matthew Murrey and I'm from Florida, but have been living in the Midwest since 1984. I started this blog because no one else was blogging NPR's drift toward the right - and it made more sense than yelling at the radio.
"Q Tips" is an open thread post where you can place general comments or brief notes about NPR.
