My name is Matthew Murrey and I'm from Florida, but have been living in the Midwest since 1984. I started this blog because no one else was blogging NPR's drift toward the right - and it made more sense than yelling at the radio.
"Q Tips" is an open thread post where you can place general comments or brief notes about NPR.

Promo for upcoming item on 'Day to Day' for a piece called "What's a Farm Without Fallow Fields?":
(paraphrasing this part):
US farmers are giving up government subsidies and growing crops of fallow land. (/paraphrase)
"Sounds good, right? Not if you're an 'environmentalist'!"
And that line was said in a snotty way, definitely intended to belittle the entire group of Americans that identify themselves with that tag.
The rest of their blurbs for this story, and the story itself had little of that tone, which made that promo sound even worse.
