This morning's show had a report from not-my-favorite South Asian reporter Jackie Northam about Afghanistan, and how things aren't going very well (land sakes, can you imagine that!). It's a tiresome irony that, on one hand, NPR has so many blabbing heads that have everything figured out, and on the other, so many that haven't a clue. She talks about how the US wants a situation in Afghanistan that they can 'win'. That does it! Listen, dense-brain, NOBODY 'WINS' IN AFGHANISTAN. Even the simplest scan of Afghanistan's history proves that every example of foreign meddling in Afghanistan has been not only a failure, but a brutal disaster as well. Al-Qaeda's covert operations there would've imploded sooner or later as well, with or without the Mayor of Kabul. My point: NPR reporters go on and on about their interpretations of things, but with places like Afghanistan and Iraq (and the block of waiting territory in between) NPR lacks the wits to develop any sort of wisdom in its perspectives. That's why they make such good shills.
