New disgust: Stevie Inscreep introduced a very serious report by Sylvia Poggioli - about the ground pollution in Naples - in the most frivolous tone of voice. As in, get a load of this, people: stupid dumpy Naples can't even pick up it's garbage. (Remember NYC's go around with that problem, years ago?) No doubt he was tittering while hard-working Sylvia was telling us about acute land-fill situations and cancer cases as a result of Love Canal-like conditions near that very large population center. The story stretched way beyond mere garbage pick-up.
Stay tuned America: such conditions are just around the corner everywhere. Inscreep needn't worry though, NPR will always be an ivory tower.
