Barney Frank zinged Steve Inskeep this morning. Speaking on the proposed auto bailout and tangentially health care, he told Steve, who was asking somewhat load questions, "You seem determined to distort this." I loved it. Steve laughed it off.

Barney Frank handled Inskeep with (fiesty) aplomb this morning. He was awesome.

Insqueak 'challenged' Barney Frank far more forthrightly than I've EVAR heard him to ANY spokesnazi from the Regime...

Insqueak seems to share the common elite antipathy for Unions...

Mundane and Insqueak are miseable tools...

I want to echo Woody's sentiments. I caught part of Inskeep's interview with Barney Frank. While Inskeep hacked away with the conservative line, I was simultaneous pleased that NPR was finally asking challenging questions and happy that Barney Frank more than capably defended a progressive position.

I was also simultaneously disgusted that Inskeep never asked challenging questions during the long Bush interregnum.

If I may shamelessly pimp MY Blogs: I have on many occasions derided NPR for their egregious prostate-laving of any Busheviks who happen into their gentle clutches. Here's an index from one of my two text sites...

'ey Myt - perhaps you could add Woody's blog to your list?

Strength in numbers, ya know~

Inskeep would fit right in at Fox.

Guess what? Inskreep seems to regard Tom Daschle in a dubious light! Really! He challenges Julie Rovner to prove if Daschle actually 'knows' about health care! Rovner, to her credit, defends the ex-senator, even going so far as to mention personal experience with him. She even calls him 'sweet and gentle'. Well, at that point, Inskreep, in his tone, sounds all condescending to Rovner, as in, 'you poor thing, getting sucked in by that flaming liberal bastard...'

With Inskreep you have to pay attention to his tone. He may be a motormouth, but he implies his prejudices just as much by his subtleties.

Q: I mean, why the hell is pipsqueak Inskreep swaggering about with all these innuendo-laden jabberings?

A: Because, my son, he represents the greater whole. That's why he got the gig.

Increasingly, I can only take a moment or two of NPR...usually just to listen to the headlines in the morning before I switch to the classical station. First thing I heard this morning out of Inscreep's mouth..."It's another day for investors to remember they're in it for long term." Heh heh. *click*

"Rovner, to her credit, defends the ex-senator, even going so far as to mention personal experience with him. She even calls him 'sweet and gentle.'"

To her CREDIT? Say WHAT?! Inscreep may be a creep for being condescending to Rovner -- though "condescending" is the official tone of all NPR folk (especially toward youth).

But Rovner's "personal experience" was deserving of ridicule! It consisted of some bizarre story about her calling Daschle by some wrong name -- I couldn't even make sense of it -- and by somehow being "gentle" in correcting her, Daschle becomes a "sweet and gentle" person. (I think she used "gentle" at least 3 times.)

This is NPR-reporter-as-puppy, happy to get praise and not the back of his hand from her master -- and then passing that off as a serious character assessment.

Truly, truly revolting.

I hope to be up to better ridicule-flinging standards in future. However, the field of criticism of NPR is so vast, I'm afraid that sometimes I go a bit soft, saving energy for a jeremiad that is best applied elsewhere.

In a land of such low expectations as NPR News, it is worthy of a footnote when someone attempts to stick up for a liberal or progressive or Democrat (or whatever entity might be considered as non-NPR), no matter how pallid or pathetic. It serves to showcase NPR's biases.

Perhaps Rovner was horsewhipped afterward by the mighty Inskreep, on account of her treacherous audacity.

The drooling, slack-jawed report this morning on the so-called 'midnight' regulation binge of the Busheviks drove me off the radio and into the cd player. I'd managed to make it through almost half-an-hour of Insqueak/Mundane blather until then.

Then the reporter (ari shapiro?--is there ANYBODY named "Ari" who is NOT a fucking tool of power?) reported that these regulatory rollbacks had not been widely reported.

And I nearly threw my coffee mug--weighing about two lb--into the receiver, because, of COURSE, NPR SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE ASTORY FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS...

Sweet fucking CHUY! And this is THE BEST we've got?

Steve The Inskreep is obviously suffering from Obama Win Rage, but I've got a theory why he's been particularly snotty/chirpy/snippy/manic-sounding more than usual:

His deal with Fox fell through. The idea of his own show on Fox got flushed down the toilet. Seems the Steve of Steves isn't quite foxy ENOUGH, so now he's taking out his frustration on NPR's gentle listeners. And the Neocon big boys above him? Why, they love it. Go fetch, Stevie, go fetch!

So, the mighty Inskreep's stuck in the wilderness of NPR. Forever.

(Actually, his ass is on the line more than ever, what with the new dynamo CEO about to gut NPR as we know it... hopefully.)

Inskeep this morning repeatedly asked Mike Shuster "how concerned (scared)?" we should be that Iran has enough low enriched uranium to make a bomb in a year and a half with further enrichment and violating IEAE restrictions in plain sight. When Shuster failed to say "scared shitless", Inskeep kept asking the question until enough concern was expressed. What a tool!

I loved Inskeep's defense of how he interviewed Barney Frank, using one letter supporting his technique after two that berated him. I guess 2 to 1 is balanced in his mind. Too bad they don't report the number of positive versus negative comments they receive regarding a segment.

I've never heard him question a Republican or conservative as aggressively or rudely as does Democrats or progressives.

Hey,

Maybe it's my Midwest/Southern sensibilities - but if people toss the f-bombs around I'll delete the posts.

I really don't want this to become just a ad-hominem, obscenity strewn blog...seriously..

Thanks,
